The Boxing Federation of the Republic of Moldova draws the attention of central and local authorities, leaders and members of sports structures involved in boxing, athletes.

In the Republic of Moldova, according to the Law of the Republic of Moldova no. 330-XIV on Physical Education and Sport and the Government Decree no. 356 concerning the Approval of the Regulation on organization and operation of National Sports Federations, it is provided that in a particular sport field there can be only one [National] Federation that is involved in the development of that sport and that is granted exclusive rights to represent it on the international level.

In the Republic of Moldova, such a federation is the Boxing Federation of Moldova (FBM). The BFM is the only national-level organization with which the state structures of the Republic of Moldova, responsible for the development of sports in the country, and the National Olympic Committee interact.

The Boxing Federation of the Republic of Moldova (BFM) is the national level body responsible for both the Olympic and professional boxing sports as confirmed by the Certificate issued by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of the Republic of Moldova (attached).

Therefore, the BFM is the only body in the Republic of Moldova which has the authority to regulate sporting events relating to the field boxing, as well as the activity of sport clubs and boxing athletes, be it Olympic or professional boxing; it issues licenses and keeps records of professional athletes and sport clubs, and is the only organization at the national level that maintains relationships with international boxing organizations. Furthermore, individuals and various public boxing organizations (associations, clubs, schools etc.) can become members of the BFM, including those active in the field of professional boxing.

The structure, called the National Association of Professional Boxing of the Republic of Moldova, headed by Mr. V. Rimari is not an organization authorized by the state or by the Boxing Federation and is not authorized to represent Moldovan boxing on the international arena. Accordingly, this structure doesn’t have the right to issue licenses, permits for conducting fights, organizing and coordinating sporting events.

The Boxing Federation of the Republic of Moldova declares that the unauthorized appropriation and exercise of these powers, including carrying out unauthorized FBM events, issuing licenses, receiving money and other remuneration, without having any legal grounds for this, is a violation of the current legislation and may be authorized, disciplinary, financial, administrative and criminal.
